Tanker Shuttle Drill

June 13, 2021

On June 13th members of the Mutual Engine and Hose Co. trained on tanker operations with our friends from the Millwood Fire Department. All the different aspects of tanker operations were covered, starting with drafting out of a static water source such as a pond or lake, using that water to fill a tanker, dumping the water into a portable pond, and using another engine to draft that water to be used for fire suppression. These are all essential tasks for fire suppression in areas without fire hydrants. We performed several evolutions of this training to allow members to see and get hands on with all the different parts of the operation.
